Leader of the Pack

In playground this morning, I saw kids running in circles around the jungle gym. . . red shirt leading, followed by kid in yellow shirt, followed by the rest of the kids.

I thought about the pecking order of kids running: did they have any choice of what color shirt they would wear to playground?

RED for leader of the pack, YELLOW for second in command?

Or did parents have final say, depending on their hope that their son packed the gear to be the leader? Did the parent of the kid that chose the yellow shirt know that the kid that chose the yellow shirt would have the courage to hang back and support red shirt, until red shirt faltered, then yellow shirt could take over for the win ?

The End of the Season

I have followed the Philadelphia 76ers since I discovered a real interest in basketball, especially since I’ve had to stop rowing.

But the “Sixers” have played the last game of the season. Watching the last game, Millard yelled at me that the season is over.

Now I have to cease watching the players I have grown to love.

Now, too,  I have learned of the firing of head coach, Doc Rivers, my hero. I am inconsolable.

I look forward now with trepidation to the new season.

That’s My Ego Talking (Or is it my ID?)

Sometimes I feel like a “know it all” – like I should just shut up and keep my feelings to myself.

Then I remember that is my Ego speaking. The Id, Ego, the Super Ego. . . what are they?

I’ve learned that the ID is your original idea. The EGO is how you really feel about your idea. The SUPER EGO is the result of your actions about a decision you have made.

In the end, it really is about how you feel about your ultimate decision. Are you at peace with your decision? How does it make you feel? Honestly, I really almost always feel better when I share my feelings with others.
